2023 Annual Meeting
Fire, Flood & Drought: Climate Adaptation in the Nechako Watershed
The Nechako Watershed Roundtable is grateful to Saik’uz First Nation for the opportunity to host the 2023 Annual Meeting on their Traditional Territory. This meeting was an opportunity to connect and collaborate through a hybrid event held at the Vanderhoof Community Events Centre.
The event featured a panel on how major climatic events have impacted the people, environment, and industry in the Nechako Watershed. We learned from guest speaker, Dr. Younes Alila, UBC about forest harvesting effects on flood, and heard updates from our community partners. A discussion on how the NWR can facilitate dialogue around climate adaptation and resiliency was initiated.
